December 5th 2010 FIRE TEAM WORKSHOP
We met at Meet at 444 Alder Street Arroyo Grande at 0900 hours on 5 December 2010. A large heated military tent was available for everyone who came down the night before. Wake up time was 0600, breakfast is at 0800, the convoy left for the training site at 0900, training began at 1000, and training ended at 1400.
This 4 hour work shop on field techinques started in a tent going over all the techniques of training that day by Dr. King. On arrival at the training site the teams split up and started their portion of training under the watchful eyes of trainers. On the way to their staging point for a "Hail Mary" ambush "Tiger Team" was "L" ambushed with all down within 3 seconds. All teams learned to correct their mistakes and how to apply these new techniques to airsoft game play. Another highlight of the training was when Tiger Team got even with the Multicam team by a flawless Hail Mary ambush at a hillside bunker.
This workshop was 4 hours Recondo School credits

Doctor King,
I’m writing this letter to advise you of the courages action of Recondo Graduate Baron Bronson Phillips E5-R06083. On the evening of September 10, 2011 at 12:30 PM he was forced to take up firearms against two intruders of a home invasion.
We live in a very sparsely populated area of the high desert. Due to the isolated area police response times are very extended. The weather condition of the night of September 10, 2011 was lighting and thunder with heavy rain. The weather condition added to the nightmare feeling of the situation. Now add two unknown persons breaking into your home at midnight.
The night started out very pleasant because Baron’s nephews had come to visit with grandma (Baron‘s Mom). His nephews ages one and five years of age. The little guys and Baron settle down into bed at 9:00 P.M. and grandma turned off the T.V. at 10:15 P.M. She was awakened by a noise at the window. She went to investigate by opening the shade only to see a six foot four, shirtless, long black haired male trying to force entry into the residence through a window. Grandma yelled to Baron out of pure fear and terror to take up arms because she is not trained.
Baron sprang from the comfort of his bed ripped opened a locked gun case and proceeded to load the weapon and chamber a round in front of the intruder. The intruder heard the slide slam forward with that no mistaking sound of racking a round and decided it was best to flea. Unknown to Baron a second intruder was at the front door stealing property. The second intruder seeing the male by the window fleeing also fleas. Baron has grandma and his nephews stay in one room so he could guard and control his environment with safety.
The sheriffs shows up to take the report and check the property. Report # MB 11540002 they do this and leave. Baron’s instincts told him not to let his guard down. He was right because both the intruder came back after the police had left the scene. Baron heard a window in the garage break and decided not to say any thing to his mom. He had her sit with him on the couch and guard the bedroom of his nephews. He knew she needed to be kept out of the field of fire if a gun fight was to break out. He later stated to me the front living room couch was the best tactical position to guard both entry points into the residence. He knew if he told her that was the garage window she would be terrified. Baron made a great decision that night to only use deadly force if they made entry into the living area of the home. Baron stood his ground against two thugs and made very sound tactical decision at the young age of thirteen. I attribute this to his Recondo Tr aining from your school. He showed outstanding confidence in this very stressful situation. He also showed weapon handling under stress and command decision making in a hostile environment. The training from your course provided him the tools to carry out this mission to a successful conclusion. There is no doubt in my mind that on that dark lonely scary thundering night Baron became a man!
I an immensely proud of my son for his soft and gentle sprit to other people. This was a hard night for him because he saw the worst in man kind and was able to over come his fear and take direct aggressive action when it was necessary.
God Bless,
Captain Bryant L. Phillips
